The BWP series area sensors feature a flat and compact body size (13 mm) made of high strength PC/ABS (Polycarbonate/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic. The sensors use high performance Fresnel lens and have high-speed response time of under 7 ms. Four different configurations are available based on the number of optical axes and detection area size. Light ON and Dark ON operation modes switching is available. The series also features various user-friendly functions including operation test function and mutual interference prevention functions.

Bright LED indicators are present in both the emitter and the receiver, making it easy to identify the operation status. Mutual interference prevention is possible with master/slave connection method, allowing multiple units to be installed in a row.

The BWC cross-beam type area sensors utilize a 3-point cross-beam method detection to minimize non-detection area and provide reliable detection. 14 different configurations are available based on the number of optics, optical pitch, and detection area size.
